Back!!!

So started playing again this week, started with £100 and a fairly aggressive bankroll strategy as started with £5 aka 20 buyins then quickly moved upto £10 buyins at £150...this can be a recipe for disaster but as long as i run ok i find i can win quickly doing this strategy

mainly playing my beloved Omaha and also being a dirty shortstacker buying in for $15 and 6 tabling speed poker.

I have also purchased poker tracker 4 which seems a huge improvement and at long last you can have combined Omaha and Hold'em in one graph - tada!

so going well, £274 winnings plus £76 rakeback and im upto £450! will change upto £15 buyins for the forseeeable future, hopefully can continue upto £1k and back to regular £100 withdrawals like the good old days...

Couple of scores

Haven't got started on the poker yet and the £500 is sitting in my account waiting to be deposited, however i have played a bit on the side.

First up i deposited £25 onto stars with the intention of getting into the Sunday Million which i have never played before and somehow got a ticket at the 2nd time of asking in a $1.65 rebuy - on Sunday itself i managed to get a stack fairly quickly and was at one point even in 11th place, as the night wore on i got more and more tired but managed to keep at it and eventually finished 208th for $880 - bit gutted with exit hand as i 3bet shoved my 12bbs stack with KK and got called by 99 rivering straight, if i hold there i deffo look at some kind of 4 figure cash - ah well maybe next time.

Second up is that as i work with my dad and run his office he always is getting me to play poker as well, on this occasion i was told to have a pop at a $10 rebuy on ipoker and came 3rd for $250 which is not bad.

at the moment im doing a $20 freezeout and a $2 rebuy whilst he is on a delivery, wish the ipoker daytime schedule was a bit better.

Need to transfer this all into my own games and get started on the quest to £2k...

have opened accounts on Frogstars and 888 as well as playing on ipoker so should really have a good opportunity at some soft mtts.

Close to a Live Adventure

so last night i had satted into a 80 euro freezeout with the top 5 players getting a 1300 euro package to the ipops live tournment held in Barcelona...despite two hours of late registration there was still a fat overlay with the packages worth 11k but the 85 entrants meant that only 6k was put into the pot.

Long story short i got onto the final table in good nick in about 3rd in chips, but i bled a few chips away and when we got to bubble time there was one redic chip leader with 200k, one person on 70k and 4 of us on 30-40k. what this then meant was that the chip leader was chucking his chips round and stealing every pot, it went on for about 3 orbits and there was even an all in and call, but the short stack's K7 hit quad kings against the chip leaders optimistic qj off suit.

Anyways the sad end to the tale is that eventually i defended a blind steal with KQ caught a king and ended up all against the obvious steal, but alas he actually had hid a set of fives and i was bubble boy. I then had the pleasure of all the players typing in see you in Barcelona etc which really was a kick in the balls.

In Better news im £116 up in two days since i "reset" my bankroll to £500. I'll withdraw £100 tomorrow and that will be the first withdrawal in my target for £3k.

After a lot of thought ive decided to withdraw down to £500 and from now on just play with a roll of £500 and  withdraw £100 when i hit £600, i know many people will disagree with this but its still 50 buyins as my roll and it will discourage me from playing higher buyins like £50 headsup full stacked....

also i lie a little as i didnt actually withdraw the money. I had £300 of it invested on Bayern to win the champs league, i cant describe the feeling when Drogba connected with that header, so sick, there first corner 88 mins into the game.

Weekend Off

Feel mentally drained poker wise so instead of taking advantage of a rare night out for the wife, i wont be hitting the juicy as fuck Friday night tables. gonna chill with my two younger girlies (Jasmine 5, Melina 2) and watch a barbie film and once they're in bed im gonna play the ps3 and have a few cans...

Poker wise i guess volume equals profit as im now over £900 and ive withdrawn £40 to pay for some drinks as im out for the champs league final.

Havent decided if im cheering for Chelsea or Bayern yet, as a gooner there are plus sides for both teams winning, i think that if Chelsea get Luiz and Cahill fit they may have a chance and then ill lump on £20 to confirm my allegiances.

I had £100 on them to win the Fa Cup final and it was one of the biggest buzzes ever when that final whistle blew!!

Pastures new

So after a few decent months on Winner poker i have decided to move to pastures new.... im not getting a better deal as i had 55% RB on winner but im getting the same deal but on a much bigger site in Bet Fred Poker.

After being stung on Full Tilt this is a big thing for me and i would hope a leading UK bookmakers will offer me security as well as integrity of the games.

Will take a few days i assume to withdraw and redeposit and the saddest thing is that i lose the cute name DamnDuckDuck and im using a horrific name DoubleDonk77.

Ah well maybe its that horrific people will spite call with 4 high or something.

Argggghhhhh!!

Played for like 7 or 8 hours yesterday, ran like pooo, played like poo and have carried on the same standard in a cheeky session first thing this morning. makes me feel a bit like this.....

Think i need a break as although i might pat myself on the back for getting loads of volume in, the downside is that it can kind of consume me and i dont react well to bad beats, especially a couple of dirty one outers which happened yesterday. net damage isnt too bad, lost like £60 and probabaly raked about £80

Luckily the mrs isnt working tonight so i have a good excuse to not play, and i already have a nice day planned for Saturday so hopefully i can put my losing streak to the back of my mind and come back refreshed for a decent session maybe Monday..

since my withdrawal i have struggled, basically won and lost won and lost, but last night i had a breakthrough and am now up £70 for the week, £348 for the month and £709 since the restart of me playing.

extremely happy at that, also have to give myself a pat on the hand for volum, i played 35 hours in April but in May ive already logged 25 hours and its only the 9th!!

*edit as posting a day late, just had another rakeback payment of £83!!!  bankroll now £774 and it would of been over £1k if i didnt make withdrawals - going so well hope i can keep it up and cope when one of those dreaded downswings comes!!

Update

Finally got my rakeback payment a week late, it was a sizeable £67 which is on par with what i have been earning at around £30 a week, however despite also winning the biggest hand to date i now hava a bankroll of £600 as ive had to make a sizeable withdrawal to cover costs of basically my first caner weekend in months as i went out Friday and Saturday!

this doesnt happen much so hopefully i can continue on grinding onwards to the £1k mark where withdrawals will be standard.

April Review

Have to say im pretty happy with how its gone on my return to the virtual felts. I feel like a bit of a poker bum, stuck on the riverbed playing my £10 buyins which is nearly always shortstacking but its working, maybe when the bankroll is up to a good figure i can start buying in full and playing a proper game. so to recap I started with £200 on the 1st and I exit the month with £550, Omaha profits of £300, rakeback of £60 set back by some small No Limit Hold'em losses, and i didnt play a single tourney which i should remedy as i know mtts on ipoker are soft as fuck. graphs etc here

ive finally stopped the time consuming Fifa 12 Ultimate team (selling off my team for like £200+ on ebay)so i should be able to put a lot more hours in at the juicy european evening times. would love a repeat month which would have me right up close to £1k and when i reach that mark ill have a decision to make for the future but will have to think about that later.. just been steadily dipping into games when i get a spare minute, no-where near "grinding" as i've only played 1384 hands but i have logged over 10 hours somehow. The last couple of days has seen my play a bit of holdem where i lost £12 but i also got my first rakeback payment of £36 which is pretty good for a low volume player. hopefully can keep this up, need to motivate myself to play some mtts soon.

argh.... shouldnt really blame the kids but just had my first major losing session, was playing fine across 3 tables of Omaha, kids were being noisy so i told them to be quiet and was ignored, 2 mins later my 2 year old is screaming in pain as they had been rough with her (and they're all girls) this pissed me off no end and i then played like a clown until my tilt software kicked in when i got to minus 100 which based on the combo of tables was around £80 down.

so down to £64 profit and cant play again till tomorrow, but probabaly for the best as i want to drink and watch the football.

wow these shallow tables at 25/50c Omaha on ipoker are redic.

i'm sticking with my same plan as before, and obviously not one for the poker purists, but im buying in £10 on any omaha table and hoping to get involved with one of the numerous dribblers who play 80% of hands, even if i get it in with a reg as its Omaha there is always a chance!

55% rakeback is obviously the sweetener.

ive literally played an hour over a couple of lunch breaks and im up 8 buyins in 168 hands!

Poker Funding Fifa 12 Habit!

So the break from poker has been pretty decent, feels nice to not be sitting watching TV or out and suddenly think "oh shit i need to put an hour in at the tables" or "fuck sake if i lose another session ill have to drop down in limits". Poker unless viewed totally casually is a commitment which sometimes can be a pain in the arse!

Anyway the point of this post is that the extra time in my life has been consumed by Fifa 12 and its Ultimate Team game, the basic idea of this is that every player in the game is set as a top trump style card and you build the team you want, buying players with coins that you win for matches and tournaments that you play. However with a match victory say getting you 700 coins, it seems a rather impossible slog to afford a player like Messi who currently costs about 1'000'000 coins!!

So basically to bypass having to spend 24/7 trading players for profit or trying to win 1000 games without losing I have resorted to playing poker and withdrawing the money to buy Fifa 12 coins on Ebay! the going rate is £15 for 100k coins I reckon ive waxed about £90 plus maybe a few quid on PSN network cards as well...........pretty sad really all this extra cost for a video game but these are my 4 teams (2 gold, 2 silver)

Nice to know that when i get back to poker if the worst comes to worst i can sell all my teams and have 1 million coins plus which is worth about £100!!

Too Stressed to Play

Getting into the end game of moving house, pretty much all the building work has been done (new bathroom, kitchen installed + loft conversion) and now have painting etc to do....cost of all this is getting redic so when i do play poker and lose 3 buyins which is standard it just makes me angry and not in the mood to play.

So plan is too take a break from poker, maybe play the WBCOOP if i ever receive my tickets and start afresh once im in my new home

WBCOOP 2012

So the annual Bloggers tourney run by stars is back again, as well as numerous prizes of SCOOP tickets, there is also an impressive $5k reward for the best blogger.

Now, it is highly unlikely i will win any prize for my blogging but it is nice to think what i would do with the cash............

$5k.... use it as a bankroll for higher staked games? pretty much has to be a no. It felt like a kick in the balls when i donked off a $800 roll at heads up NLH a few years ago, i can only imagine the pain of getting hammered and dusting off $5k to some red pro or rich russian donk.

So the $5k would have to be withdrawn and to be honest i know exactly what i would use it for! two months ago i returned to the country where i was born, Singapore for the first time in twenty years. I met cousins that i had never met, saw my Nan sadly probably for the last time and introduced them all to be own family in my wife and 4 little girls.

I would love to go back asap, and $5k is just the right amount to cover the plane fares, hopefully my uncle will let me crash at his and enjoy the use of his swimming pool so we can have another boxing day bbq :)




Sadly if my blogging isnt quite upto scratch ill just have to bink the main event, hopefully taking down a few bloggers i read on the way!

Really need to blog more as I when sit down to blog its the only time i pore over my figures hands etc and lets me do some self analysis.

From now on i really need to take at least 5 mins out to post something even if its just, played 10 hands doubled up and fucked off to bed!

Had to do some major withdrawals do the black hole that is my new house, nearly every job we get quoted something on there seems to be some stupid extras, its doing my head in!

anyways stats on the side, bankroll is £2 less then i began with which is a pain as ideally i want to get to 1k but real life comes first.

Back for Feb

So i decided to withdraw some money and start again for February with a £300 bankroll,i seem to be in god mode again and so happy at the moment.

I will probably need to withdraw periodically as the house is caning my resources not to mention one of the daughters birthdays plus the car MOT,what are peoples opinions on withdrawing from your bankroll?

Rumble!!!!

Real busy weekend coming up with work on the new house plus my father in laws 50th birthday party, Arsenal on TV Sunday afternoon, the Royal Rumble Sunday night and my daughters 5th birthday on the Monday.

all this means that i wont really have time to play poker this weekend and with a lot of withdrawals needed for extra house bits im probabaly gonna reset stats and start again with £200 or £300 as the starting bankroll, bit annoying as ive been as high as £640 and well on the way to £1k but real life comes first and if the money is needed there is not a lot i can do!

Ah well there is always the Royal Rumble to keep spirits up, sadly its one of my favourite hours of the year....

Tilt Breaker Software

Does anyone use this or even heard of it?

seems like the solution to my problem, it allows you to select a maximum stake to play on (so no more tilt shots at £1-£2 Omaha) and also shuts down your poker client when you hit a stop loss!

gonna download ready for me to start playing tomorrow, its a snip at $50 but of course ill use teh free trial first!

I didnt end up doing the 180 man challenge as poker tracker doesnt seem to work with stars at the moment. With the $100 I deposited i did degen and run 3 $30 6 man hypers and binked one for a small profit though.

i have received a £31 rakeback payment for last week so i can play some small stuff before i get to redeposit my roll on friday once my limit has been removed, moving forward i have sorted the docs out so i can transfer money if im drunk tilted etc as opposed to withdrawing and being unable to redeposit for a week!

slightly luck but it didnt matter as i then sat at a $400 table with $80 and lost 3 all ins to basically end the night even... at that point i snap withdrew my bankroll which was the only way to guarantee me not playing any more, really sucks to be a degen.

bad thing now is that i have a £25 a month deposit limit so i cannot get my bankroll back online, i have emailed the site and you need to wait 7 days after requesting so it looks like ive got the week off.

Dont Go Chasing Waterfalls......

came across a right donkey last night playing on a shallow £50 table, i wont name and shame him but he was terrible, looking at PT3 now he was playing at 75/12 and was stacking off all over the shop.... after he lost for the umpteenth time he left and I decided to see if he was playing elsewhere, it looked like he was tilting even more as he was sat with £50 on a £100 table....

Week 1 Review

I have to say I am mega pleased at the end of the first week, basically i have doubled my bankroll albeit i have since withdrawn a chunk....

Hold'em has been a bit of a wash and i've lost £25 over 900 hands, but Omaha has been my real achievement and ive won £281 in 1422 hands! ok a 3rd of this has been degen shots at higher stakes but even removing say £100 had I not degened then its still a great win rate



19 sessions and all winning ones! i almost had a losing session earlier but i managed to double up and then the villain tilt called with one pair no redraw and my overpair held....

my poker tracker says i'ved raked $125 so adjusting that up for hands played as euro's or pounds i could have a healthy £50-£60 in rakeback on my 55% rakeback deal

good times for poker and just need to stay disciplined, cant afford these £100 degen chases and when i do finally lose ill just need to accept it!

Need Self Exclusion Button!!!

Argghhh got myself into a right little tilt earlier and lost about 70 euro's playing heads up no limit holdem, luckily i was playing within my limits and it was at a .20 euro table, however i then went and chased my losses at a .50/1 euro omaha table and sucked out on a big pot to win exactly the 70 euro's i had lost.

damage averted you would think but im sitting here kind of tilty and keep hovering over the poker client.........really wish i could just self exclude for 12 hours especially as im drinking in a second whilst watching the footie.

on a more positive not though the bankroll is rising as I have won in some other sessions today, bankroll is rising so i should be happy!

Going well

loving ipoker at the moment, Omaha on the lower stakes are pretty amusing, every table there is at least one person with a VP of 85+ and i've had an amazing start just isolating them. I've won over half of my starting roll and was upto £487 this morning from the £300 start - and all in about 8 hours of play!

i have withdrawn the £87 as i overspent on a new TV (50 inch Bravia plasma) and ill probably restrain from playing over the weekend as busy with the new house move, wife kids and other family - hoping to get a decent rakeback payment of around £30 which is pretty decent considering the hours i've put in and lack of multi tabling.

will aim to update more as i find stopping and blogging makes me look at my hands and evaluate my play.

Back for 2012!!

been ages since ive played properly but for new year i find myself with a £300 bankroll after spinning up from £15 - WEEEEEEEE!

so im gonna start the journey again, i have a decent 50% rakeback account on ipoker and using a 30 buyin rule im just gonna play and see how it goes without setting goals

keys will be as always not playing drunk, not tilting and chasing at headsup - lets see how it goes.....
